I am a Senior judge for Working Equitation. I have been involved and competed in Working Equitation since 2012. I have served on the board and Chaired the Licensed Officials Committee for 3 years. Competitively, I am a Master’s level rider and have earned my platinum medal in Working Equitation, a USDF Bronze and Silver medal, and several Regional and National championships in dressage, western dressage and competitive trail competitions. I found Working Equitation to be an excellent combination of horse sports that is exciting, rewarding and challenging for both horse and rider. I have travelled all over North America to conduct clinics and judge Working Equitation. I have met wonderful people, seen beautiful country and I look forward to more adventures in Working Equitation.

Nicole is a life long horse lover and has been a professional in the industry since 1990. Her background includes competing in Eventing, H/J, Reining, Ranch sorting, Western Dressage, Dressage and Working Equitation. She is a USAWE “S” Judge, USEF “r” Dressage Judge, a USEF “r” Western Dressage Judge, a USDF Certified Instructor and a WDAA Graduate of the Advanced Train the Trainers. She is a WEUnited Bronze Medalist and a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalist. Since 2004 Polly has been importing horses from Germany, Portugal, and Spain, including Lateran, who competed at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky and sired 6 premium foals, including 3 stallion prospects. Polly is a USDF Bronze, Silver, and Silver Freestyle medalist and a USAWE Bronze and Silver medalist with scores up to 80%. She has won and coached riders to Regional and National Championships and lifetime rider medals.

She is a USDF L graduate with distinction and a sought-after clinician involved in WE since 2016. Polly volunteered 4 years on the WE United BOD, co-chaired the 2019 North American Championship Show Committee and the 2019 WE United Judge Training Program committee. She also organized the 2019 US Licensed Officials Seminar, and was a member of the WE Merger BOD in 2020.

Tarrin Warren is the owner of TNT Quarter Horses, LLC. Tarrin enjoys giving lessons and clinics to help others reach their goals with their horses. Her focus is on correct biomechanics to help the riders work with the horse. Her ultimate goal being a harmonious partnership that develops the horse correctly to carry the rider. Tarrin has been judging, teaching and training for over 20 years. She has competed and trained horses for multiple disciplines including working equitation. Tarrin and her students have earned multiple championships and reserve championships at the national, regional and local level on horses she has raised and trained or trained and competed on for clients. She has trained and coached the Haras Cup youth champion two years in a row.

Barbara Price is an Iberian horse enthusiast and amateur rider who discovered Working Equitation during travels in Portugal and Spain, and has been actively involved with developing the sport in the U.S. since 2013. Ms. Price completed her initial judge training with WAWE International Judge Instructor, Claudia Elsner Matos, and more recently with Antonio Vicente. She also has participated in clinics with Portuguese Working Equitation Master Nuno Matos. One of the first U.S. licensed Working Equitation judges, she has judged numerous licensed shows since 2014. Additionally, she is a founding member of the U.S. Rules for Working Equitation Committee, and served on WE United’s Board of Directors in several roles including President. She resides at her North San Diego County ranch with her husband, too many horses, and an overly enthusiastic herding dog.

‘R’ Judge Cari Schwartz cares about each competitor’s success and is educated, fair, experienced, consistent, and easy to work with. Her love for the horse and sport bubbles over to each competitor hoping to bring out their confidence and have fun. Cari Schwartz first competed in WE in 2013 and was the first rider in the USA to earn a Silver Medal. Cari has competed successfully through Master’s Level and was 2017 Intermediate B National Champion. Cari has also trained/ competed to the highest levels in Dressage, Eventing , Hunter/ Jumpers and Equitation, earning her first USDF Bronze Medal in 1980 and Individual/ Team Gold Medals in US Eventing at the Junior Olympics. Cari Schwartz continues her education attending WE Judge Seminars, Clinics, the Pedro Torres Academy since its inception, and the USDF ‘L ‘ Judge Program. Cari promotes WE at Horse Expos and enjoys working with all ages and levels of horse and riders in WE across the US, Canada, and beyond.

Sue’s love of horses led her to Working Equitation in 2010, and she immediately devoted her equestrian life to the sport. She studied with masters from Portugal, Brazil and the USA, attended the first US judges training, and was one of the first to be both a carded judge and a licensed TD in both previous organizations. She has held a variety of BOD positions, and is a WE Trainer, Clinician, and avid Competitor. She has won over 25 competitions and Highpoints from L1 to L5, mostly on American Mustangs. Her training motto is “To make good usin’ horses that are a pleasure to be around” and WE embraces everything that stands for. She is available to travel to judge, TD, train or give clinics.

Jill’s passion is working equitation and the Lusitano horse. She is an “r” judge and Technical Delegate. Jill fell in love with working equitation at a show in Portugal a decade ago. She has been giving clinics, teaching and judging for many years.

Jill has trained with many of the top WE officials in the world. Recently, Jill scribed and shadow judged at the Portuguese National Working Equitation Show in Portugal. Her career in academia, as well as her training in equestrian judging from NC-State University gives her a strong background in teaching and judging.

Jill has been showing horses for decades and she is currently campaigning a Luistano stallion. Jill owns Cielo Azure Lusitanos, a breeding and training facility for Lusitanos and working equitation.

Erica’s Working Equitation introduction came in 2013. She was drawn to how the sport tests all aspects of horsemanship, encourages the growth of the rider and their horse at a reasonable pace, and the fantastic sportsmanship that exists amongst WE competitors. Erica and her husband love introducing this fantastic sport to people and have put on WE clinics in numerous states.

Erica’s early years working with horses exposed her to various breeds, which developed her ability to find a horse’s individual strengths. Erica has been successful in several disciplines at IALHA sanctioned shows, earning National and Regional Championship titles. Erica was recognized as IALHA Rookie Trainer of the Year in 2008, and as IALHA Professional Horsewoman of the Year in 2014 and again in 2018.

Kim Roe grew up riding on the family ranch and competed in Western rail classes, trail horse, reining, working cow, hunter/jumper, and three-day eventing. She trained her first horse for money at 12 years old, starting a pony for a neighbor. Kim has been a professional dressage instructor in Washington state for over 30 years, training hundreds of horses and students through the levels. In recent years Kim has become passionate about Working Equitation and is a small ‘r’ Working Equitation judge with WE United. Kim is the editor of the Northwest Horse Source Magazine, and also a writer, photographer, and poet. She owns and manages Blue Gate Farm in Deming, Washington where she continues to be passionate about helping horses and riders in many disciplines.

I have been teaching riding lesson for over 20 years focusing on rider biomechanics, correct timing and application of the aids, and extensive use of school figures and exercises to address training issues. I am certified by the American Riding Instructor’s Association as Level II Dressage, Driving, and Recreational Riding and Level III Western Dressage instructor. I am a proud graduate of the Western Dressage Association of America’s Train the Trainer program. I have worked with horses from Paso Finos to Percherons. My Working Equitation journey began in 2016. The inclusivity of the sport was a huge attraction, and its demanding nature from a training standpoint fit well with my own training and teaching. I promote our sport by teaching Introduction to WE clinics.

Kitty has been involved in many areas of the horse industry. Her background includes Working Equitation, Dressage, Western Dressage, Endurance, Gymkhana, Team Roping and Cattle Work. In 2015, Kitty was introduced to Working Equitation. She became a competitor and later an L Judge.

Kitty and her husband Gary own and operate Circle Star Arena, which is almost totally devoted to Working Equitation. The Arenas are available for shows, clinics and private instruction. The indoor barn and EOH course is always set and ready for riders to experience the amazing discipline of Working Equitation.

She received a classical education in Portugal, Great Britain, and the United States. Her own training has been shaped by such world-renowned Masters as Joao Oliviera, Jean-Claude Racinet, and Maestre Luis Valenca. She specializes in training the Iberian horses for dressage and Working Equitation, but welcomes any breed to train.
